EPALE National Seminar in La Spezia – migrants’ education and training

EPALE Italia Unit in collaboration with CPIA (Provincial centre for adult education) La Spezia and the department of Educational Sciences of Florence University organises a national training seminar on education and training of migrants and humanitarian protection seekers. The seminar is going to be held in La Spezia, from Tuesday 14 to 16 September 2017.

During this three-days event, entitled: “Inclusive training: sharing of practices and collaborative scenarios”, the necessary synergy among the actors involved in guidance and first training of migrants will be discussed. A crucial moment will be the sharing of collaboration experiences between the CPIAs, first help centres and non-profit organisations, to manage first help and start integrated processes of literacy and education. Special attention will be given to the valorisation of the cultural heritage of the migrants and the narration of their personal story and the story of their people. Moreover, the creation of operative networks, exchange of experiences and good practices dissemination, through the EPALE platform, are among the aims of the project.

The event is addressed to the CPIA’s world and to the organisations operating in this sector. It foresees experts’ talks, coordinated group works and a workshop on autobiography. In the seminar, a manifesto for “welcoming training” will be also drawn up as the result of the seminar works.

During the seminar, some didactic practices proposed by the participants in the selection phase will be presented. Propose you experience online!

 

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

The seminar is open to 130 people. Participation is reserved for EPALE platform subscribers. Participants will be selected on the basis of their motivations and the evaluation of a paper, documenting a carried out successful activity on welcoming migrants. Travel, board and lodging expenses can be reimbursed upon request.

WHAT EPALE IS
The Electronic Platform for Adult Learning in Europe (EPALE) is the European digital platform dedicated to the professionals operating in the adult education sector. The online environment offers the possibility to collaborate, meet, exchange ideas, experiences and didactic methods. Currently, there are about 26 thousand EPALE members in Europe and 3 thousand in Italy. The National EPALE Unit is based at Indire.
