Fair Didacta, The Erasmus orchestra inaugurated the three days dedicated to school education

Musical inauguration for Fair Didacta Italy, the massive event on school education in the da Basso Fortress, in Florence, from  27 to 29 September.

On 26 September The Erasmus orchestra performed again, this time in Palazzo Vecchio, in Florence.  The musical ensemble was created in May on the occasion of the celebrations for the 30 years of the Erasmus programme and in memory of the 13 young women who died in Spain in 2016. The coordinator of the Indire’s Erasmus+ programme, Sara Pagliai remembered them in her speech « the Tarragona road accident is an open wound for our agency, our first thought tonight is for the young women who died on that occasion».

The 40 instrumentalists coming from some Italian conservatories, directed by the maestro Silvestro Sabatelli performed music by Mozart, Rossini, Mascagni, Puccini, Bizet and Beethoven, accompanied by the vocalists of  the “Maggio Musicale Fiorentino” Academy.

The concert was attended by the Minister of Education, Valeria Fedeli; the Councillor for Education of the Tuscany region, Cristina Grieco; the Deputy Mayor of Florence, Cristina Giachi and the Councillor for Tourism and International Relations, Paola Concia. The Erasmus orchestra will perform again on the 13 October in Strasbourg, during the official celebrations for the 30 years of the Erasmus programme in France.
