The convention on higher technical institutes on 1 December at Job&Orienta

On 1 December, the Conference of regions and autonomous provinces and the Veneto Region, in collaboration with the MIUR, will organise the convention “ITS-Academy: Innovation for higher professional training” (Fair of Verona, Verdi Auditorium, 2.30 pm – 5 pm).

The Higher technical institutes (ITS in Italian) are top-class training centres highly specialised in technology, forming highly specialised technicians in strategic areas for economic development. They address specific needs of the Italian production industry, providing education and training tailored to the needs of the students and to the job market. This is demonstrated by the fact that almost 80% of graduates are hired within a year after the completion of their studies. Indire, under the auspices of the Miur, manages the data bank of the higher technical institutes, which house the professional tertiary educational provision nationwide, monitoring it regularly, in order to constantly improve the system.

The convention, moderated by the journalist Gianni Trovati (Sole 24 Ore) is focused on three main themes:

  • ITS- Academy: Regions, Companies and the territory, with the participation of Elena Donazzan (Veneto Region), Valentina Aprea (Lombardy Region), Giovanni Berrino (Ligury Region), Gianni Brugnoli (Confindustria) and Giovanni Biondi (Indire).
  • The Higher education which guarantees occupation, with the participation of representatives from companies such as Grandi Navi Veloci, Enolife, Guamiflon, Bayer, Calzedonia
  • ITS and University: alliance for work, with the participation of Federico Butera (IRSO Foundation).

Gabriele Toccafondi, Under Secretary to the Ministry of Education University and Research, will conclude the event.

The convention is organised in the framework of Job&Orienta the event dedicated to orientation, school, work and training, which is going to take place at the fair of Verona from 30 November to 2 December (find the complete programme here).
