Brussels, 224 Italian schools obtained the “eTwining school” European label

The schools which have been awarded the eTwining school label were announced in Brussels. The award was introduced in 2017 to reward participation and commitment not only of eTwiining teachers but also of headmasters and the entire teaching staff of the schools participating in the European eTwinning project.

Italy’s result was remarkable: out of a total of 1211 schools awarded at European level, our country accounted for the largest number of labels, 224 schools (almost 20% of the total).

This result confirms Italy as one of the most active countries of the eTwining community, and is also an important recognition for the value of our teaching. In fact, the eTwining schools stand as models in areas such as, digital competences, e-safety, creative and innovative approaches to didactics, promotion of lifelong learning of school staff, promotion of collaborative learning among teachers and students.

Every school awarded the “eTwining school” label will receive a school pack including:

  • A digital badge visible in eTwining live
  • A digital certificate downloadable by each eTwinner of the school
  • The inclusion in the official list of the “eTwining schools” on the European eTwining portal
  • A plaque and an official letter of congratulations from the European commission
