The Erasmus orchestra in Florence for the festival of Europe

On the occasion of the Festival of Europe 2019 and the three days dedicated to the opportunities provided by the Erasmus+ programme another appointment with the Erasmus orchestra – the music ensemble conducted by maestro Elio Orciuolo and made up of more than 50 Erasmus musicians coming from Italian conservatories and music institutes – is coming up.

The concert, dedicated to the value of mobility and cooperation in Europe, is going to be held on Wednesday 8 May at 7pm in the church of Santo Stefano al Ponte (Piazza di Santo Stefano, 5) In the programme there is music of Mozart, Verdi, Bizet and Puccini.

The Erasmus orchestra is a project created in 2017 on the initiative of the Indire’s national agency Erasmus+ with the aim of emphasising the strategic role of education in the development of the values of openness and inclusion promoted by the programme Erasmus+. This is a music ensemble unique in its kind that uses music as a metaphor for integration and encounter among the young people, beyond any language, geographical and cultural barriers.

The concert is free entry: enrol here by 5 May
