The international Erasmus conference “United in diversity” on 9 May in Florence

In order to celebrate Europe day, on 9 May Florence hosts in Palazzo Vecchio the international conference “United in diversity” organised by the Indire’s national agency Erasmus+, INAPP and ANG, in collaboration with Agence Erasmus+ France Education & Formation (Palazzo Vecchio, Salone dei Cinquecento, h 10-13,30).

The central theme of the event is the contribution of the Erasmus+ programme to the creation of European identity and the sense of European belonging. The themes of the meeting will be dealt with thanks to the contribution of international guests, political authorities and Italian and European institutional representatives.

A session of the conference will be dedicated to the Erasmus students who were protagonists of stories and successful European projects in the programme Erasmus+. The 130 students, coming from Italy and 15 European countries are going to meet for the first time in Florence with the aim of creating an Erasmus students’ European network.

During the conference, the experiences of the Erasmus students will be told through the performance of the actor David Riondino.

Moreover, part of the event will be dedicated to the Europe of languages with the official awarding ceremony of the 16 institutions (schools, universities, professional training institutions) that received the European Label of Languages 2018, the label for the initiatives able to give impetus to language teaching and learning.

The event is open to the public on a first come first served basis (in order to participate registration is required).

The conference is part of the event Erasmus4Ever Erasmus4Future three days from 7 to 9 May that is going to enliven Florence with an info point in piazza della Repubblica and a rich programme of meetings, events and performances carried out by the same participants of the Erasmus programme.

The event takes place during the Festival of Europe, a biannual big event that is going to turn the Tuscan capital in a reflection and meeting point on Europe, its citizens and its future. The Festival of Europe is promoted by Florence city council, Città metropolitana di Firenze, Istituto Universitario Europeo and Tuscany region.
