The Erasmus orchestra performing in Brussels – live streaming

Today 28 January at 6 pm, the Erasmus orchestra is going to perform once again in Brussels. The concert is at the Auditorium ULB – Université Libre de Bruxelles and is part of the European conference organised by the commission, Co-creating Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Corps”, scheduled at the ULB on 28 and 29 January.

For this performance, fifty musicians were selected from 20 Italian conservatories and music institutes. It is a unique music ensemble in its kind made up of students who participated or are taking part in an Erasmus international mobility experience. The orchestra is conducted by Maestro Elio Orciuolo, teacher of the conservatory “N. Rota” of Monopoli. The programme includes music by Mozart, Rossini, Donizetti, Verdi, Bizet and Puccini.

The Erasmus orchestra was created in March 2017, on the initiative of the Indire’s Erasmus agency on the occasion of the celebrations for the 30 years of the European mobility programme. The orchestra aims to promote the values of the Erasmus generation that is open, dynamic and supportive and the values of Europe, by using music as a metaphor of integration, encounter and development of competences beyond any linguistic, geographical and cultural barriers.
