Schools closed: eTwinning Italy launches the initiative “SOS distance learning”

With the initiative “SOS distance learning” also the Indire’s eTwinning national community and the national ambassadors’ network are mobilized to face up to the Covid-19 emergency and the consequent school closures.

From 18 March to the end of the emergency, an eTwinning group dedicated to registered users is active to encourage the sharing of best practices, resources, experiences and a cycle of webinars with distance learning experts, open to all the school staff.

The e-Twinning “SOS distance learning”

The group “SOS distance learning” was activated with the aim to provide teachers registered in eTwinning a concrete support to favour the exchange of best practices and experiences for the reorganisation of didactics after school closures. Within the group, materials, resources, thematic forums and online events are available in order to support teachers during this time of suspension of traditional didactics, and to favour distance learning approaches and cooperation within the European community, by exploiting the tools provided by the platform.

The cycle of webinars with experts on distance learning

Beyond the initiatives of the dedicated eTwinning group, the national unit makes available for all the teachers and head teachers – also not registered in eTwinninga series of online appointments moderated by experts to provide further support.

The webinars add up to the wider educational offer on distance learning offered by Indire, the Educational Avant-garde Movement, and the Small Schools Network.
