General Director

Flaminio Galli

He was born in Rome in 1964. He is the General Director of INDIRE, Chairman of IUL – Italian University Line and a member of the Independent Assessment Body of the local health authority, “Rome B”.

Flaminio Galli holds a degree in sociology from “La Sapienza” University of Rome, and solid experience in the managerial field, in particular in the management, valorisation and development of human resources, strategic planning, budgeting, reporting and performance management, the start-up and management of new business initiatives, and external communication and relations.

Since 1993, he has been involved in company management that avails itself of integrated organisational systems, IT, economic and administrative consultancy, and has followed the planning and creation of IT systems to improve the management of some large-scale institutions such as the Umberto I General Hospital in Rome (1993-2007), the Local Health Authority RM B  (2001-2003) and the Authority for the Supervision of Public Contracts (2002).

He has carried out research for numerous projects which he also created and coordinated. In particular, for the Ministry of Employment and Welfare, he directed various projects on health and safety at work, including “Women – Safety – Work. Training strategies to promote the health and safety of female workers (2007-2008)”; “Workers Over 50. A model to help workers protect themselves: some quanti-qualitative research”; “The social impact of Local Health Authorities as instruments to favour the adoption of socially correct behaviour and lifestyles”.

He has dealt with issues linked to the world of work, from analysis of training needs for the development of health and safety, to the programming and implementation of training processes, information and assistance for internal prevention within the Public Administration and the private sector. From 2003 to 2008, he was Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of ISPESL – the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Prevention. In the role of Central Prevention Manager of INAIL (2009-2012), he worked on the programming, planning, coordination and monitoring of health and safety in the workplace. As a member of the Ministry of Health’s steering committee for the assessment of policy measures and  supervision of health and safety at work at national level, he helped to define national policies on health and safety at work.

He was Extraordinary Commissioner for ANSAS – National Agency for the Development of School Autonomy, where he managed the human, technical and financial resources of the Agency as well as the former IRRE regional educational research institutes.

He has worked with “La Sapienza” University of Rome coordinating research and tutoring for the Healthcare Management post-graduate course.

For the Province of Cagliari’s Department of Public Education, he directed a project to improve the career prospects of early leavers from education and training.

He is a member of various scientific committees for the Lazio Region and the Ministry of Employment, and also the author and editor of numerous publications, mainly in the field of health and safety at work, teaching and business management.
