Laboratory teaching and curriculum innovation in the languages and humanities sectors

The focus of this line of research is didactical innovation in linguistic and humanistic disciplines and the laboratory teaching methods applied to them.

Unlike other disciplinary areas, active learning and laboratory teaching remain still largely unexplored in this area and struggles to settle in more strictly curricular areas of these disciplines (grammar, literature, etc.) that are still characterised by traditional lecture-based teaching.

The Methodological reflection is accompanied by the epistemological one. This is crucial for the rethinking of the entire curricula of  languages and humanities sectors and to overcome the narrow approach of the traditional school model, by opening to a broader cultural vision and possible intersections with other disciplinary sectors.

Indire’s researches in this field are aimed at observation and experimentation of methods, technologies, and innovative tools for laboratory teaching in the schools of all types and levels, and to implement support and accompanying actions for experimentation.
