School 2030 – The portal of education for sustainable development

Scuola2030.indire.it is the portal providing self-training materials, contents and resources to bring an education inspired to the values of Agenda 2030 in the classroom.

The 2030 sustainable development agenda is a development project that was signed by 193 UN member countries in 2015. Italy, as many other countries, has drawn up its own national strategy including commitments and specific targets linked to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) foreseen by the Agenda.

In Italy, ASviS – National alliance for sustainable development, promotes the implementation of the 2030 agenda, with the aim of enhancing the awareness of the importance of the programme in the Italian society, rising public awareness and involving all citizens, starting from the students through schools and initiatives of Sustainable development education.

School 2030 is born out of the collaboration between Miur (the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research) to contribute to Goal 4 (Quality education) and in particular to the Target 4.7 (By 2030 ensure all learners acquire knowledge and skills needed to promote sustainable development, including among others through education for sustainable development and sustainable lifestyles, human rights, gender equality, promotion of a culture of peace and non-violence, global citizenship, and appreciation of cultural diversity and of culture’s contribution to sustainable development).

The resources of the public website scuola2030.indire.it are freely accessible, while self-training materials can be accessed through authentication with SPID (Public System for Digital Identity) credentials.
