Two super new developments for eTwinning: the official App and 500,000 teachers enrolled on the platform

This Autumn is full of new developments for e-Twinning. Thirst of all, there is the e-Twining App, already available for Apple and Android in Italian and in all the languages of the countries participating in the project. The App was conceived to manage the e-twining live profile from the smartphone. Through the App, it is possible to view the contacts’ feeds and manage messages and project invitations of contact groups, participate or create events on the platform and view notifications.

In the video below Denitsa Gospodinova, Digital Media Officer of European Schoolnet, explains in details the characteristics of the new App.

Moreover, in these days, e-Twinning users all over Europe hit the record number of 500,000, confirming e-Twinning as the largest community of teachers in the old continent, in line with the increasing trend recorded also in our country.

The e-twining central unit organised a series of activities to celebrate this important result. They are 4 team games to be played in class (phone game, constructions with straws, sketching, and egg game). For more details and practical examples follow this link

WHAT ETWINNING IS
eTwinning is the European community of teachers involved in electronic twinning between schools. The project, funded by the European Commission under the Erasmus + Programme, and co-ordinated in Brussels by the European Schoolnet consortium, promotes innovation in the school, use of technology in teaching, and the shared creation of educational projects between classes in different countries. Indire is the eTwinning national unit since 2005. The Italian Unity is constantly working with the network of National Units in the 36 participating countries and with the European Central Unit. There are over 500,000 European teachers registered in the platform, out of these, about 55,000 are Italian, with over 18,000 implemented didactic projects.
