“Beyond prison”. Epale national seminar in Bari, enrolment is open until 6 April

Prison education is one of the main themes of adult education and of  Epale’s national plan. The national seminar “Beyond prison”, scheduled in Bari from 11 to 13 June presents concreate initiatives to tackle the challenges posed by the relationship between prison and community, which is crucial for prisoners’ rehabilitation. The issue will be tackled from three different perspectives: the role of education, training, and prison work programmes both in and outside the prison; the responsibilities of the prisoners towards the educational projects in which they are involved;  and restorative justice paths.

The seminar is addressed to 150 participants including prison instructors, operators, staff, teachers, volunteers and associations.

During the seminar, there will be multidisciplinary best practices, selected in Italy and Europe, sessions coordinated by experts, group work activities for participants, and on-site visits.

Participants will also have the opportunity to watch the theatrical  performance of the prisoners/actors of the theatre Casa Circondariale “C. Satta” in Ferrara, directed by Horacio Czertok of Teatro Nucleo.

The seminar is reserved to Epale platform subscribers. Participation is by invitation upon online registration. For those who are selected, expenses will be covered by Epale Italy.

Enrolment is open until 6 April
