From 7 to 9 May, the Festival of Europe comes back to Florence. The great bi-annual event turns the Tuscan capital into a place for meeting and reflecting on Europe, its citizens and its future. The event is promoted by Florence city council, Città metropolitana di Firenze, Istituto Universitario Europeo and Tuscany region.

“Erasmus4Ever Erasmus4Future”, the three-day Erasmus event

Like in the preceding editions  of the Festival of Europe also this year the Erasmus programme will have a prominent role in the programme with the event “Erasmus4Ever Erasmus4Future” taking place in different places of Florence from 7 to 9 May.

The three-day event is organised by the Italian National Agencies Erasmus + INDIRE, INAPP and ANG, in collaboration with Agence Erasmus + France Education & Formation. Over 130 alumni will attend the event. They are people who have participated at least once in their life in an Erasmus experience in the different sectors of the Programme: School, Adult Education, Vocational Training, Youth and University. The 130 alumni, coming from Italy and 15 European countries, will meet in Florence with the aim of creating a European network of Erasmus alumni and sharing projects and experiences.

During the three-day event an information point will be set up in piazza della Repubblica to provide information and make the citizenship know the opportunities offered by the Erasmus+ programme. On Tuesday 7 May there will be a moment dedicated to adult education and the resources of the electronic platform EPALE for the expert of Adult learning. On Wednesday 8 an event on Europe of languages, with the presentation of the projects that received the European Label for Languages at the end of 2018, is scheduled. On Thursday 9 May some teachers will talk about eTwinning, the virtual community of the schools and European teachers to present their experience on the electronic platform.

On 8 May, 130 students will be Erasmus + ambassadors for one day with talks in 15 schools, universities and cultural bodies in Florence.

On the same day (8 may) at 7 pm there will be the concert of the Erasmus orchestra in the church of Santo Stefano al Ponte. The orchestra was created in 2017 to celebrate the 30 years of the Erasmus programme and is made up of 50 young Italian musicians of conservatories and music institutes all over Italy that have participated or that are about to take part in an Erasmus+ experience. On this occasion the students are going to perform pieces of Mozart, Verdi, Bizet and Puccini. The concert is open to the public on a first come first served basis.
