Quality education, climate, migrations, gender equality: two days of free training in Florence on the major issues of our time

On Monday 9 and Tuesday 10 September in Florence there is a great opportunity of free training for teachers, head teachers and educators.

Oxfam Italy organises Oxfam back to school 2019 a two-day event aiming at strengthening the role of schools and teachers in accompanying the new generations to face up to the challenges of contemporary society: from social inequality, inclusion, migrations, gender equality, to climate issues (Foresteria Valdese, via de’ Serragli 49).

The opening event of the first day, from 10 am to 12:30 pm foresees a plenary session on the theme of quality education, goal no. 4 of the 2030 Agenda, the sustainable development programme that 193 member countries of the UN (including Italy) signed in 2015. Key competences of students’citizenship, equal and inclusive education and education to sustainability will be discussed with the Indire researchers Maria Chiara Pettenati and Isabel de Maurissens and with the Oxfam Italy experts Areta Sobieraj  and Carla Marsili.

On the same and following day, a series of parallel work sessions dedicated to major themes of our time are going to take place. The path is modular and can be adapted to one’s own interests and needs and participants are going to receive didactic materials and toolkits on the subjects dealt with during the training sessions.

An attendance certificate will be issued at the end of the training. In order to participate it is necessary to register online until 8 September.
