The Classroom has Broken: the book about School Architecture in Europe and Across the World

The EU Commission’s portal, Education Gateway promoted the volume “The Classroom has Broken Changing School Architecture in Europe and Across the World” in 23 languages. This collection of articles, cured by Indire’s researcher Samuele Borri, presents new models of school learning environments that are gaining ground in many countries.

The building model that predominated for many years seems to be no more adequate to the technological tools, the didactic strategies, the competences and the objectives characterising the most innovative learning environments. This re-invention process requires the overcoming of the concept of the class as the only spatial reference point for everyday teaching and the beginning of a series of new solutions and innovative models to design new learning environments and redefine the class function.
