From today, Italian schools can apply to host a language assistant from Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, UK, and Spain.

The language assistant is a young graduate or university student who is going to flank the foreign language teacher (or the teacher of a non-linguistic subject for CLIL) for 12 hours per week from 1 October 2020 for a period of time ranging from 6 to 8 months. The presence of the language assistant contributes to the creation of a real cultural exchange between EU countries and strengthen the positive attitude towards cultural pluralism and the restoration of common traits of EU culture.

The call can be found on the page of the Ministry of education’s website dedicated to language assistants in Italy and will be open until 20 march 2020.
