XXXI National Music Festival “Music unites schools” gets underway

From 25 to 30 May, the National Week of Music at School – organised by the national committee for practical learning of music for all students, of the ministry of Education, and by Indire – comes back as part of the activities of the initiative “school for school”.  

A fully online event taking place on the Indire website “Music unites Schools” is going to host for the entire week webinars, live music performances and video contributions sent by student and teachers from all over Italy. 

Starting from 25 May the school performances will be available on the portal lamusicaunisce.indire.it, and from 8 June videos sent by families and teachers will be published daily. 

Besides students’ performances there will be also more than 30 webinars on music education that will involve 90 speakers including orchestra conductors, music experts, teachers, head teachers, and teachers from universities and national and international conservatories. 

There will be also little concerts and messages of musicians and world-famous conductors who wanted to encourage students in this difficult time by emphasising the importance of music education at school.  

Among these: Tosca; Mogol; Paolo Fresu; Sonia Peana; Catia Gori; Danilo Rea; Ciro Caravano of “Neri per caso”; Petra Magoni and Ferruccio Spinetti; the guitarist, Emanuele Segre; the violinist, Stefano Montanari; the bassist Daniele Roccato; Rosario Giuliani and Vittorio Solimene; Paolo Damiani with Stefano Luigi Mangia and Francesco Merenda; Javier Girotto; Maria Pia de Vito; the concertmaster of the Orchestra of the Scala of Milano, Laura Marzadori; the first soloist flute of the “Scala” Marco Zoni; the first violin of the Orchestra of San Carlo of Naples Gabriele Pieranunzi.
