The Erasmus Orchestra returns with Morricone’s music

On the occasion of the launch of the new Erasmus+ 2021-2027 Programme, on Wednesday 15 December at 7 pm at the Niccolini Theatre in Florence, the Erasmus Orchestra returns with the concert, “Once upon a time … in Europe”, dedicated to Ennio Morricone one year after his death.

The event involves more than forty Erasmus students from twenty-five Italian conservatories and musical institutes, conducted by Maestro Elio Orciuolo, professor of the Monopoli Conservatory “Nino Rota”.

Established in 2017, on the initiative of the Indire’s Erasmus+ National Agency, the Erasmus Orchestra is a unique ensemble of its kind, made up of students from conservatories and music institutes who have carried out or are carrying out an Erasmus international mobility experience. The initiative aims to promote the values of the Erasmus Generation – open, dynamic, supportive – using music as a metaphor for integration, encounter, and development of skills beyond any linguistic, geographical and cultural barrier. Since its inauguration, the performances of the Erasmus Orchestra have been a great success of public, attracting interest beyond the national level.

The concert is free and open to all, subject to availability, upon online registration.

It is advisable to present oneself at the entrance of the theatre at least half an hour before the beginning of the concert. The EU digital Covid certificate is mandatory for access.
