Fifty years of municipal nursery schools in Italy. The study seminar in live streaming from Foligno

The law that established municipal nursery schools was approved by the parliament on 6 December 1971. Fifty years later on the same date the municipality of Foligno (one of the first cities which activated them) organises the study seminar entitled “The establishment of municipal nursery schools in Italy” (Monday 6/12 h 3:30 pm sala conferenze di Palazzo Trinci and in live streaming).

The programme, after the institutional greeting of the councillor for education of the Municipality of Foligno, Paola De Bonis, includes the speeches of Annalisa Morganti (coordinator of primary education at the University of Perugia), Agnese Rosati (coordinator of education science at the University of Perugia), Silvia Fornari (master’s degree coordinator in pedagogical counselling and educational interventions).

In the programme there are also reports by Nicola Barbieri (University of Modena) on “Nostalgia for the future. The nursery school in Italy from the second post-war period to today, 50 years after law 1044/1971”; Claire Cameron and Rachel Benchekroun (University College London) on “Early Childhood Education and Wellbeing During Covid in Four Countries”; Antonello Alici (Polytechnic University of Marche) on “Child-friendly Architecture: the project for preschools in Italy in the late twentieth century”; Floriana Falcinelli (University of Perugia) on “Integrated System 0-6: possible lines of development”.

For Indire, the researcher Alessia Rosa will speak about “0-6 and community spaces: the development of socio-relational skills”.

The seminar is aimed in particular at educators, teachers, students, and operators in the childhood sector.

Both those who will be present and those who choose to follow online can obtain the certificate of participation by booking here.
