The most awaited event by the Debate community is back. From this year, the fifth edition of the National Debate Olympics 2022 will offer a new section of the tournament in English.

Schools are therefore invited to participate in the selections, organized by ITE Enrico Tosi of Busto Arsizio, to identify the teams that will participate in the national phase of the Debate Olympics in English. The deadline to participate is 31 January, 2022.

Each team will consist of four students and an accompanying teacher. The students participating in the selection must be enrolled in a secondary school in Italy, and be aged between fourteen and twenty.
The event will take place in-person, the final phase will in fact take place in Marina di Massa, at the Torre Marina Village, from 26 to 30 April, in the hope that the Pandemic health conditions will allow it to take place.

The Debate Olympics were also included among the major projects of the ministry of education, developed on a national scale to expand the training offer. This represents an important recognition for the Debate methodology, which enables to develop argumentation and personal skills.

Indire has also been dealing with the educational value of this didactic approach for some time: the Debate is in fact one of the 16 ideas of the Avanguardie Educative movement, successfully tested by numerous Italian schools. Indire, with the participation of the researcher Letizia Cinganotto, is represented in the Scientific and Organizing Committee of the National Debate Olympics.
