On Tuesday 10 May at 9 pm at the Verdi Theatre in Florence (via Ghibellina 99), the Erasmus Orchestra returns to perform with the concert Europe becomes music. Happy birthday Erasmus!. The event is part of the initiatives organised for the 35 years of the Erasmus+ Programme on the occasion of the Festival of Europe.
The more than 50 Erasmus students/musicians involved, coming from over 20 Italian conservatories and musical institutes, conducted by Maestro Elio Orciuolo, will perform famous classical music pieces by some of the most important European composers.
Established in 2017, on the initiative of the Indire’s Erasmus+ National Agency, the Erasmus Orchestra is an ensemble unique of its kind, made up of students from conservatories and music institutes who have carried out or are carrying out an Erasmus international mobility experience. The initiative aims to promote the values of the Erasmus Generation – that is open, dynamic, and supportive – using music as a metaphor for integration, encounter and development of skills beyond any linguistic, geographical and cultural barriers. Since its beginning, the concerts of the Erasmus Orchestra have had great success with the public and received widespread interest at international level.
The event is organised by the Indire’s Erasmus+ National Agency in collaboration with the “Luigi Cherubini” Conservatory of Florence.
The concert is free and open to all interested parties, upon online registration.
It is advisable to arrive to the theatre at least half an hour before the concert start time. Admission is subject to the security measures in force.
