“Rural Teachers from Mediterranean Countries Together at European School Education Platform”, the first in-person multilateral eTwinning seminar in 2022, will take place in Durres, Albania, from 26 to 28 September. The event is reserved for teachers from small school communities in the Mediterranean area.
The meeting, organized by the Albanian National Unit, is aimed at primary and lower secondary school teachers of any subject, active in schools in rural areas, geographically disadvantaged and/or at risk of geographical isolation, with a low student population.
In these contexts, digitization in teaching and project planning with eTwinning can be an extraordinary tool for innovation, capable of promoting inclusion and development of transversal skills as well as overcoming the geographical isolation in which these schools often find themselves.
The seminar aims to encourage collaboration between the countries of the Mediterranean basin, favouring the creation of eTwinning projects.
During the seminar, open to Albania, Italy, Spain, Bosnia Herzegovina, Slovenia, Croatia, Bulgaria and Cyprus, in-depth workshops on the use of eTwinning tools and project planning are scheduled. An adequate knowledge of English, the working language of the seminar, is also required.
For Italy, 8 places are available for teachers of any primary or lower secondary school of any subject (age of pupils: 6-13 years) serving in mountain schools, islands and areas with low population intensity.
No specific experience with eTwinning is required, since the seminar is aimed at beginner eTwinners, but previous activity on the platform will be considered in terms of updating the profile, possible participation in collaborative projects and professional training opportunities. To apply, you must have been registered in eTwinning since before 31 December 2021.
Applications are open until August 26th. Priority will be given to candidates who in 2019 actively participated in the Indire’s NOP laboratory “Internationalization for innovation in small schools” and who have never participated in other in-person European eTwinning events, in Italy or abroad.
Among the applications received, the National Unit will select the Italian teachers who will be invited to participate. Hotel accommodation and meals (limited to what is foreseen in the programme) will be managed directly by the Italian Unit for both booking and payment, while travel expenses, the organization of which is the responsibility of each participant, will be reimbursed upon return, subsequently to the submission of the original documentation and according to the reimbursement rules that will be communicated to the selected teachers.
Only selected teachers will be contacted. In the following weeks, additional candidates may be contacted for possible replacements.
