Personalization of teaching and development of students’ potential, the new INDIRE research-training project

INDIRE has recently launched the research-training project on the theme “Neurodidactics and technologies for the personalization of teaching paths and the development of students’ potential“.

The training-research project involves 159 teachers and 5 headteachers from 34 Institutes of various levels (from nursery school to CPIA) throughout the national territory. Currently, the participants are involved in the second module of a training-reflection and sharing process that began at the end of February, within a dedicated online environment.

The course includes 4 consecutive modules that address four macro-themes:

  1. personalization of teaching, principles for effective teaching and false myths
  2. 0bservation of aptitudes and potential of the students
  3. co-planning personalized teaching
  4. from class to organization

Each module includes: asynchronous materials (videos produced by researchers and study documents); synchronous moments for the opening of each introduction/discussion module on the topic that will be addressed; sharing activities of teachers’ lessons and tools. These materials were designed to be discussed in synchronous meeting organized by type of school and students’ age group, to facilitate sharing and collaboration between the participants in small groups.

In the school year 2023/2024, the research involves testing the tools and paths co-designed in this first phase and, specifically: the development of a shared tool for identifying student potential; the documentation and observation of the different paths and practices implemented for the personalization of learning.

As part of the project there is also the development of a tool for detecting students’ potential, for which is active a collaboration with the University of Genoa, Department of Education Sciences.
