eTwinning schools 2020/2021, Italy is the first ranking with more than 200 schools awarded. New applications open in November.

204 Italian schools have received the European eTwinning School label for the two-year period 2020/2021. The award, related to the results achieved in the school year by teachers and students through the eTwinning platform, certifies innovation in these didactic areas: digital practice, eSafety, creative and innovative approaches to pedagogy, promotion of teachers’ and students’ continuous development of skills.

After the 224 awarded institutions in 2018/2019 and the 130 in 2019/2020, this year’s result represents another excellent achievement for our country, which is the most awarded in the EU and in second place after Turkey among the 44 eTwinning countries.

In total, 2,139 European schools have been awarded this year. The outcome is the result of a selection managed by the European Commission and the European eTwinning Unit.

At a geographical level, Campania is the first region with 28 award-winning institutions. The second place is for Lombardy (with 25 schools), followed by Sicily (22), Puglia (21), Emilia-Romagna (17) and Lazio (16).

The eTwinning School label aims to create a new network of European schools that are pioneers in educational innovation and in the sharing of knowledge, experiences and skills inside and outside the school walls. The title gives visibility to the European activity of the school, recognises the work of teachers and managers involved in eTwinning activities, supplies a model of reference for schools also for regional and national school authorities.

Here is the complete list of Italian and European schools awarded with the 2020/2021 eTwinning School label.
