Popoli Reloaded and the Pesaro International New Cinema Exhibition: initiatives in the audio-visual area are underway

From today, Tuesday 15 until June 18, the Festival dei Popoli returns to “La Compagnia” cinema in Florence with Popoli Reloaded, the initiative organized in collaboration with the Romanian Academy in Rome to celebrate the reopening of the cinemas.

The programme of Popoli Reloaded consists of 20 films, including those of Doc Explorer, an experimental section on the hybridization of languages ​​and the new frontiers of the cinema of reality, and Diamonds Are Forever, with the treasures of the historical archive of the festival, including over 15 thousand titles.

On Saturday 19 June, the Pesaro International New Cinema Exhibition inaugurates its 57th edition. The exhibition, in addition to the usual programme dedicated to the novelties of independent cinema, will be enriched by an opening to the virtual world with the Open Access Cinema section with five online paths among the audio-visual resources accessible to all on the Internet.

Both the Festival dei Popoli and the Pesaro International New Cinema Exhibition are among the main partners of Indire’s project “La scuola allo schermo” (The school on the screen) – coordinated in a synergistic way by Structure 12 ‘Enhancement of historical heritage’ and Structure 8 ‘Methodological innovation and Small Schools’ – a project that aims to stimulate and deepen the didactic use of film sources in an active and laboratory teaching perspective, providing a collection of audio-visual resources aimed at teachers, head teachers, students, and to those who carry out research or training in educational contexts typical of small schools and, more broadly, to anyone in the world of school who wants to deepen, through audio-visual sources, social, cultural and economic issues. A reasoned repertoire of films, documentaries, short films, interviews and other fictional materials, for a journey through educational cultures, teaching methods and tools, innovations, the relationship with the territories and with society in Italy and beyond.

The web page of “La scuola allo schermo” will provide, in conjunction with the festival: updates on the novelties proposed this year for both initiatives, interviews with authors and open-source film resources.
