The school of the future is here. The Sicilian edition of Fair Didacta Italy is open until Saturday at SICILIA FIERA

The first edition of Fair Didacta Italy, Sicilian Edition, the most important event dedicated to educational innovation, organized by Fair Didacta Italy with the collaboration and the support of the Sicilian Region, has opened in great style.

There was strong institutional presence at the inaugural ceremony that took place in the Main Hall of the fair in the presence of the organizing committee, a crowded audience of Sicilian and southern Italian head teachers and teachers, accredited journalists and representatives of over 75 exhibiting companies.

Didacta takes up the challenge of innovation in the world of education, from nursery schools to high schools and universities, and in that of professions. Specialization and professionalism are increasingly popular requirements of competitors, in a new globalized educational, professional, industrial and telematic world. This is why we need to take up this challenge”, declared the President of the Sicilian Region, Renato Schifani, speaking this morning on video connection.

We are proud to inaugurate today the first edition of Didacta at Sicilia Fiera – declared Davide Leonarduzzi, General Manager of Sicilia Fierathe most important event at European level for what concerns the tools, services and solutions for those working in 360 degrees training. Sicilia Fiera with its new trade fair body is finally able to respond to a request that has been pressing for years: to have an innovative meeting place where markets can meet “.

In a nerve centre for our island – added Marco Falcone, Sicilian regional assembly’s deputy member and former regional councillor for infrastructures – the Sicilia Fiera di Misterbianco, an event that projects Sicily on an international platform of exchange, innovation and good practices for the vast school industry. The Region supported the initiative because guaranteeing investments in education and training means building tomorrow’s ruling classes in the best possible way “.

Our Administration – added the mayor of Misterbianco Marco Corsaroaccompanied the establishment of the largest Congress Centre in the whole of the South to promote a significant process of urban and identity regeneration of our city. Misterbianco becomes a modern platform of services and opportunities to host national and international events such as DIDACTA, results that today more than ever tell us that we are on the right path”.

During these days we will have the opportunity to listen to experiences and good practices and we hope to see a future for our children’s school, made up of innovation, training and inclusion” commented Maria Virgillito, Councillor for Public Education of the Municipality of Misterbianco.

It is a great pleasure and emotion for us to be here in Misterbianco, in this extraordinary region, for Fiera Didacta Italia Sicilian Edition – said Lorenzo Becattini, president of Firenze Fierawhich represents the first exhibition we organize outside Tuscany, an event born from an agreement between Firenze Fiera and the Sicilian Region and the result of a winning teamwork of the entire organizing committee and of the companies that have followed us up here from all over Italy. School innovation is a fundamental theme for the future of our country: I am sure that this fair represents only the first step of a long journey that will see us, also in 2023, all together alongside the Sicilian Region for the second edition of this important event “.

The Sicilian edition of Didacta – said Cristina Grieco, President of INDIRErepresents a great opportunity to network and grow the education and training system in the territories, involving regional and local institutions, schools and associations. INDIRE participates in the Fair by offering training activities that start from research consolidated over the years and from the sharing of good practices at national and international level. We are aware that some specific actions, such as support for training in the area of ​​territorial gaps and the management of small schools, can support schools in the design and implementation of interventions, including in the field of NRRP“.

Satisfaction was also expressed by Giuseppe Pierro, General Manager USR Sicily: “Excellent result for this first edition in Sicily as demonstrated by the exceptional response of all head teachers and teachers who participated“.

We need to innovate the school structures in our region, to intervene also on the equipment so that our young people can keep up with those of the other Italian regions”, added Cinzia Torrisi, scientific director of the cultural and scholastic guidelines of the metropolitan city of Catania.

Among the appointments scheduled for tomorrow Friday 21 October, at 10.00, Vincenzo Schettini, professor of physics and influencer with over 1 million followers, will present “The physics that we like” by showing everyone how to transform a scientific subject from pure notion to real playful entertainment.

At 11 am, it will be the turn of the conference “Erasmus + EITA 2022 projects for innovation in teaching” during which the excellence of projects among schools will be celebrated with the delivery of the European prizes for innovative teaching practices and of learning among Erasmus+ projects, EITA 2022 (European Innovative Teaching Award). The Prize enhances the work of teachers and schools and aims to promote mutual learning between teachers and school staff and highlight the value of the Erasmus+ Programme for the collaboration of teachers at European level. In the afternoon at 4 pm the workshop “IDeAL and STEAM: a methodology for STEM didactic planning“. INDIRE researchers will illustrate the IDeAL (Iterative Design for Active Learning) methodology, to promote analytical skills and creative attitudes of students in groups and encourage the development of transversal skills. The accompanying cards and tools made available to teachers and already used in previous experiences in STEAM will be used.

Also tomorrow, at 2 pm, the Regional Department of Education, University and right to Study is organizing the talk on “The new community programming 2021-2027. The implementation of the three-year plan for the right to education“: a moment of in-depth study on the objectives of the 2030 Agenda regarding education and learning, on the increased financial resources in the field to expand the training offer, reduce gaps and plan shared interventions among all the actors in the field, institutions, stakeholders, and the school community.
