EITA Award, on September 16 the announcement of the winners of the European recognition for innovative teaching

The European Innovative Teaching Award EITA comes to life: on 16 September the European Commission will announce the winning teachers, during an online event open to all.

The recognition was created to enhance the best teaching practices implemented under the Erasmus+ programme and to recognize the work of teachers and their schools that make a contribution to the development of the teaching profession.

Each country participating in the Programme had the opportunity to select four Erasmus+ projects, and in recent months the Indire Erasmus+ National Agency has selected the best projects carried out under Key Action 1 and Key Action 2, divided by school level: early childhood education and care; primary education; upper and lower general secondary education; upper and lower professional secondary education (technical/vocational institutes).

In selecting the four projects, the Erasmus + Indire Agency took into account a series of quality indicators related to methodologies, learning environments and the impact on learning and teaching processes. More details on the evaluation criteria and eligibility of projects are contained in the launch article of the initiative: EITA, a European award for innovative teaching.

The recognition, which has a purely symbolic value, aims to celebrate the achievements of teachers and schools and give greater visibility to their work, identifying and promoting innovative teaching and learning practices. The goal is to promote mutual learning between teachers and school staff and highlight the value of the Erasmus + programme for the collaboration of teachers at European level.

After the announcement of the winners, in September, a European Ceremony for the awarding of prizes is scheduled for October 20, which will be held online and will be open to all.
