“Posing poems”, from 13 September in Milan the photographic exhibition of Italian-language poets
On 13 September in Milan, the exhibition “Poesie in posa” (Posing poems) opens (Fondazione Pasquinelli, Corso Magenta 42, until 27 September Mon-Fri 9.30-12.30 / 14.30-18.30). The exhibition, which is also supported by INDIRE, will present some portraits selected from the Photographic Register of Italian Language Poets, a photographic documentary series on the “faces of poetry”, portrayed by the photographer Simone Casetta.
The voices of the poets will be disseminated in the Foundation’s exhibition spaces and some autographed productions, a selection of poems, critical and informative texts will be displayed, as part of a setting that aims to involve the viewer and make her/his gaze dialogue with that of the subject and of the photographer.
The Photographic Register of Italian Language Poets foresees 200 portraits in its first phase of production, 150 of which have taken from 2010 to today. “The poets – explains Casetta, the author – are photographed” at home “, representing each author in their own environment. It is the overall narrative of a common tension towards poetic production through all its protagonists”.
The photographs that make up the Register, individually and as a series, as well as the project itself in its peculiarities, move around the themes of the story, the need for the registration of the Memory, and its protection.
