Putting Education for Sustainable Development into practice, the event in Rome on 17 October

On Monday 17 October at 3 pm in Rome, in the Auditorium of the Palazzo delle Esposizioni (Sala Auditorium, scalinata di via Milano 9a), the national event “Putting education for sustainable development and citizenship into practice for an education of quality: beyond Target 4.7 ”, as part of the 2022 Sustainable Development Festival promoted by ASviS. The meeting can be followed in-person and in live streaming.

Living the present without compromising the future of the next generations and life itself on Earth requires rethinking values and behaviours, promoting knowledge and awareness of the importance of alliances and dialogue between cultures and generations.

Target 4.7 of the Agenda 2030 plays a central role in this, and consequently Education for Sustainable Development and Global Citizenship. Its interrelation with the quality of education in its broadest sense also makes evident the importance of transformative education, which is now recognized globally. If we consider ecological transition as environmental sustainability put into practice, we can consider Target 4.7 as the cultural step necessary to accomplish its implementation.

The event includes moments of meeting and discussion on the topic to deepen relevant aspects, in their national and European dimension, involving the younger generations, and will be an opportunity to present the ASviS booklet on Target 4.7 “Education for sustainable development and global citizenship, Target 4.7 ”, realized thanks to the support of the Cariplo Foundation and Hera.

Also participating in the event will be the INDIRE researcher Maria Chiara Pettenati and Giordana Francia (CISP), coordinators of the ASviS working group on Goal 4.
