Erasmus+ and civic participation, the Erasmus Orchestra plays in Naples

The Erasmus Orchestra performs once again on Monday 19 December in Naples, on the occasion of the Erasmus+ international seminar “P.E.A.C.E. Erasmus+ contribution to European civic participation”, with the concert “Christmas is Peace”.

The concert, scheduled for 7 pm in the Sala Scarlatti of the “San Pietro a Majella” Conservatory in Naples, is organized by the Indire’ s Erasmus+ national agency.

Musicians from over twenty Italian conservatories who have carried out or are carrying out an Erasmus international mobility experience in the sector of Higher Artistic and Musical Education (AFAM) were selected to play in this concert. The programme, divided into two parts, will range from the most classic arias by Mozart, Donizetti, Cimarosa, Bizet and Puccini, to famous Christmas songs, with the addition of some surprises. The orchestra will be directed by Maestro Elio Orciuolo, professor at the Monopoli’s Conservatory.

The concert is part of the initiatives foreseen by the “P.E.A.C.E” seminar, an event that aims to create a synergy between various subjects active in the Erasmus+ Programme at European level: School Ambassadors, representatives of the world of adult education, Role Models and Alumni of Higher Education (find here more information on the initiative).

The Erasmus Orchestra is a unique musical ensemble, which aims to promote the values of the “Erasmus Generation” – open, dynamic, supportive – and of Europe, using music as a metaphor for integration, encounter, and development of skills beyond any cultural and national barrier.

Participation in the concert is free upon registration*, subject to availability. The duration of the concert will be approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.
